2024-2025 Scholarship Information
The Happy Jack Fund will award up to three (3) scholarships to high school seniors who have suffered the loss of a sibling. Each scholarship winner will receive no less than $1,000 to be used for his/her higher education. To apply for the scholarship, the following criteria will be considered:

Submission Requirements

To apply for the scholarship award, the following must be submitted to the Happy Jack Fund Scholarship Committee for review:

*The Happy Jack Fund Scholarship Committee, may, from time to time and in its sole discretion, award a scholarship to a recipient who resides outside of Rockland County, New York.

Due Date for Submission

Applications must be submitted online no later than 11:59 pm on March 15th, 2025.

Essay

The Happy Jack Fund was created to honor the memory of John Thomas “Jack” Doyle, whose life was taken too soon. With his death came much grief and pain for his parents, siblings, and all who were lucky enough to have met him.

In your essay:

  • Describe how the loss of your sibling has affected you
  • Explain how you are dealing the loss
  • Describe what you intend to do with your higher education
  • Minimum 250/maximum 1000 words for essay application and website
  • Essay format: One inch margins on top, bottom, left, right; 12 point font Times New Roman; double-spaced with no extra spacing between paragraphs
